01
Brief
Tell sales what you want for the sites. Include the product, the specification, the pack, the number of sites you have in mind, and whether the market is Australia, New Zealand, or both.
A current menu item or a target specification is enough to start. Say whether you want an existing line, a bulk foodservice pack, or a custom product developed with a manufacturer. Containers, cups and wraps can be named when they belong with the food. Napkins, tissue, or bags can be named when they fit the same brief.

02
Source with the factory
Shiiv takes the brief to global factories that already supply mainstream supermarkets, foodservice and QSR, and matches the chain's specification with a factory that can make it.
Shiiv is the sourcing partner on that conversation, and the factory makes the product. Where you want a custom product, it is developed with the manufacturer, then imported by Shiiv. Shiiv also coordinates specification, labelling, allergens, shelf life, batch traceability, and import requirements for Australia and New Zealand with the factory.
03
Sample
A sample is arranged so the chain can assess the product in its own kitchen or quality process. The sample supports a decision. Supply for the stores is confirmed when the chain approves the brief.
04
Approve
The chain confirms the specification, the pack and the commercial terms in writing. Timing for the order is agreed at approval, order by order.
05
Deliver
After approval, Shiiv imports the product and arranges delivery to the place named on the order. The approved order is the commitment.

Compliance
What a major QSR brief covers
A major QSR brief covers the points below. The same points apply when the buyer is HORECA or another foodservice business. Shiiv coordinates each point with the factory.
- Specification
- Labelling
- Allergens
- Shelf life
- Batch traceability
- Import requirements for Australia and New Zealand
Shiiv Imports Pty Ltd holds ISO 9001. Shiiv sources from factories that hold the necessary certifications for the product, including Halal, ISO and BRC where the product requires them.
Import rules
The rules an imported QSR line has to meet
Imported food has to clear two sets of rules before it reaches a store. In Australia, the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry sets biosecurity conditions and runs the Imported Food Inspection Scheme, which can hold a consignment for inspection or testing. In New Zealand, the Ministry for Primary Industries sets the requirements for importing food.
Labels are prepared to the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code, including the allergen declarations in Standard 1.2.3. Shiiv works through these points with the factory during sourcing, so the approved line is ready for import rather than fixed after it lands.
